We reached our room. It was late, we freshened up decided to take a nap. My friend tucked into bed right away, I was unable to as mind was busy in processing some things. Night passed, the next day I availed leave and stayed in the room as I was not in a mood to work. I decided not to be a dramatic like the ones we see in movies. I decided to move on and not to be a lock of happiness waiting for someone with a key to unlock it. I made up my mind. My friend came back from the office in the evening. We decided to go out for dinner to Bawarchi Restaurant. One thing that is consistent in my life is Biryani, whether I am happy, irritated, depressed or sad, any mood, Biryani is my saviour. It has been always my favourite and comfort food.
I realised that there is no point in dwelling for the things that happened in the past as it just pushes the present in to the past. I decided to keep myself busy as it would help me get out of my unwanted thoughts. It worked well. Days passed and I was promoted. After a year I happened to relocate to another branch in Hyderabad. There, I met Pranitha. She was in my team and was a talkative personality. She was honest and open minded. Her smile is to die for. I remember reading somewhere that a person who speaks a lot don’t have many things to hide and they are open.
As days passed, I enjoyed her company. Soon we became good colleagues to good friends. I started becoming and realising my old self, thanks to her. I started enjoying small things in life, our friendship became stronger as time flew. One day, we all went for team outing. It was a pleasant day, all were busy playing games, pulling each other legs, chit chatting etc…. I grabbed a cup of tea and sat on a bench watching all the crowd from far. It was calm and peaceful. Meanwhile, I got a call from my mother regarding my marriage proposals. I was not sure about the answer and disconnected the call saying will speak later.
After some time, Pranitha noticed me that I was alone and came towards me. She approached me and sat to the other corner of the bench. She asked me what I was thinking about. I smiled and said it was nothing. She was not satisfied with my answer and pestered me again. I put my tea beside and asked her “Will you marry me?”. She was blank and turned towards the crowd and replied, “Are u serious?”. I replied, “Yes I am”. She was quiet for a minute and turned towards me looking into my eyes. She took the tea I am having asking me to get another for myself and walked from there. I did not understand in the beginning and kept looking at her, she turned around having a sip of my tea with a smile on her face. There I got the answer and called my mom.
We got engaged and married in couple of months. It was shocking news for everyone in the office. Our story is plain and simple with no filmy drama. It was surprising for me as well; I just did what I felt right for me at that point of time. If I recall my first day of my joining, the day when I first met Pranitha, it was a memory for me. It was my first day at office and they gave me visitor pass as my original ID was not generated yet. When I was trying to get into with that ID, it was not working properly, and was struggling with it. Pranitha saw me and let me in using her ID along with her. I stepped into the office along with her which later led to seven steps of our life together. I feel that her ID not only just let me into the office, but into her life too. Isn’t it beautiful, how situations are related, and we just don’t notice them?
This is my story, and this is how its ended. Wishing you all the success in your life and career. At the end all I can say is “Believe in yourself, give your best and wait for your time, who knows what time is holding for you in future”
It’s such a happy moment, how can I end it without having Biryani. Pranitha just cooked for first time and experimenting on me, Wish me good luck.
Keep Smiling.
With love,
Ilyas & Pranitha.
